Our Purpose

Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church exists to glorify God by extending the transforming presence of Jesus Christ to individual lives, our local community, the Delmarva Peninsula, and the whole world.

Our Denomination

Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church is a church of the Presbyterian Church in America. The PCA was formed in 1973 as a denomination committed to Christ centered preaching and faithful Bible teaching. The PCA is one of the fastest growing evangelical denominations in the United States and continues to grow through church planting and mission works that emphasize God's sovereign grace, enthusiastic worship, meaningful fellowship, spiritual growth and outreach.

Our History

Early in 1996, God called several Kent Island families together in a Bible study and began to stir their hearts to become church planters. This core group of pioneers on the Eastern Shore, many of whom attended the Annapolis Evangelical Presbyterian church, began to develop a vision of what a faithful church plant on Kent Island would look like. They held a unified vision for a biblical, evangelistic, reformed, spirit-filled church where the joy of salvation overflows in passionate worship and faithful lives of service to Christ the King.

On January 11, 1998, Safe Harbor held its first worship service in an elementary school building. From the core group of 28 members, Safe Harbor church has grown to more than 300 members. So many people have been brought and continue to enter into a saving relationship with Christ and joyful submission to His rule and reign in their lives, solely by the grace and blessing of God.
