ANNUAL SPRING MISSION CONFERENCE

The Safe Harbor Annual Spring Mission Conference will be May 15 and 16 this year. We are very excited to have a Romanian pastor visiting us for that weekend, as well as Tom Homans with his Baltimore group on Sunday. Look for details about a Saturday Breakfast and a Sunday Luncheon with our visitors.

MISSION TRIPS !

This year brings many opportunities for trips and our Team is focused on making sure each trip is utilized to its fullest in bringing and sharing the gospel with as many people as possible, while helping those in need. We need your help to accomplish this.

On March 14, 2010, after the Sunday Service we will be having a Missions trip planning meeting. Specifically, we are looking for people to be trip coordinators. This is a very unique experience and we are hoping that you will spend some time in prayer to see if God is leading you to this task. If you are interested and have any questions please send an email to: mby1215@gmail.com and someone will contact you to discuss these available opportunities.

Hope to see you on March 14th!

MINISTRY PURPOSE

The goal of Safe Harbor's Missions Team is to proclaim the Gospel and promote the growth and health of Christ's Kingdom on Kent Island and around the world.

The Safe Harbor Missions Team focuses on three critical aspects of missions:

(See Matthew 9:37-38; 28: 19-20; Galatians 6:10).

After receiving input from many members of the Safe Harbor congregation, and approval of church leadership, the team has made a strategic decision to focus Safe Harbor's Mission involvements in seven areas, across four countries.

Mission Focus Areas:
El Salvador, Peru, Romania, and Turkey, and three U.S. locations: Maryland's Eastern Shore (including Kent Island), Baltimore and West Virginia.

We also support church plants, especially those in one of these seven areas. We celebrate the Lord's work in missions at Safe Harbor through a Missions Spotlight every third Sunday, through Missions Focus Weekends in the Fall and Spring, and a pizza luncheon in the Summer.

Many years, over 100 people from Safe Harbor will have participated in a short-term mission trip, and we encourage you to seriously consider signing up for one. There are many other ways to get involved in missions, including your prayers for missions and missionaries, helping to support people to go on short or longer term missions, helping to receive people back from short or longer term missions, preparing for a possible long-term mission assignment, supporting missions and missionaries with financial gifts or the raising of resources, and helping to develop programs at Safe Harbor to increase involvement in missions.

The Missions Team is chaired by Mark Weist and co-chaired by Dan Zagone.
